Job Qualification Requirements:
High School/GED diploma or foreign equivalent is required. 36 months of work experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator or Mechanic is required. Must possess strong troubleshooting skills and ability to quickly identify and resolve mechanical issues and be able to work independently and make critical decisions on repairs. Must have high level of accuracy in diagnosing issues and completing repairs on deadlines while ensuring equipment safety and quality standards. Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Must possess skills in welding, soldering, and using specialized tools such as micrometers, OBD, and other mechanic tools is required. Must be knowledgeable of welding, fabrication, and the ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics. Physically fit to handle strenuous tasks such as lifting, pushing, and lifting heavy objects. Willing to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends or on-call as needed. Capable to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to meet tasks deadlines and manage tasks efficiently. Must be able to secure the commercial CNMI driver’s license.

Responsible for maintaining and repairing company heavy equipment, including excavators, boom trucks, compactors, cement mixers, sky-lifters, and other industrial machinery. Replace or repairs damaged or worn parts, and test mechanical products and equipment post-repair or assembly to ensure they meet performance standards and comply with manufacturer specifications. Operate and inspect heavy machinery to diagnose issues, interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools. Overhaul and test machinery to ensure optimal operation. Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies such as transmissions and crawler heads using hand tools, jacks, and cranes. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including rewiring. Utilize diagnostic tools like computerized test equipment and calibration devices to detect faults or malfunctions. Inspect parts for wear or damage using micrometers and gauges, and weld or solder broken parts and structural components using electric or gas welders and soldering tools. Manage parts inventory, order required components, and ensure stock levels for repairs and services. Fit bearings and perform repairs on mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Schedule maintenance for machinery and equipment and keep detailed service records. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting industrial equipment and vehicles. Assemble and align gear systems, frames, and gears.
